One of the most impactful Hybrid events I supported was the B4SI Global annual conference Hybrid event at Foy’s Arcade in Melbourne, for around 100 attendees, but over 500 global virtual attendees simultaneously. This included plenary sessions, breakout groups, workshopping and networking, all utilising hybrid technology.
B4SI initially came to us looking to do two separate events, one in-person, and one virtual, however this put the price just over their budget, so we decided to combine the two into a huge hybrid event in Melbourne, broadcasting around the world.

My role here was multifaceted, my tasks included:
- Firstly lead the research and testing for the event
- Reach out to vendors to assist with tech support and interview them
- consult with and liaise between vendors and client, and facilitated testing environments for unique requirements such as many to many interaction and collaboration
- Designing the in-person experience and virtual experience closely with the client.
- Developing the hybrid experience to match as closely as possible, and where it couldn’t I tested alternatives
- Trained and rehearsed with all speakers and moderators
- Complete live event material complete with embedded videos and audio
- Oversaw in-person experience and virtual experience from zoom
- Post event recording production and marketing materials/presentations for communications
